Angela Anaconda (Sue Rose)

Angela’s a total tomboy, super smart, and has a bit of a dark side. She’s always daydreaming about freaky stuff involving her friends and enemies, but when she’s not in her head, she’s either playing hockey or messing with her arch-nemesis, Nanette Manoir.

Angela is not really into girly stuff, but you might catch her wearing a dress every now and then and using a hand mirror with raspberry lip-gloss – you know, that classic early 2000s look. She’s definitely not into anything fancy or princessy like Nanette, though.

Her voice is super unique too, all raspy and high-pitched with a Texas accent, which is kinda weird since nobody else in her family talks like that except her grandma Lou.

Gina Lash (Bryn McAuley)

Gina Lash is hands down the smartest kid in her grade. She’s got a brain full of all sorts of knowledge, a massive vocab, and a hunger for learning that just can’t be quenched. But despite being the brains of the crew, she’s always down for whatever her friends are getting into. She also has a pet turtle named Sheldon that loves carrots.

Gina’s not just a know-it-all, though. She’s also got a serious scientific streak, with her own microscope and other cool lab gear. And when it comes to food, forget about it – this girl can eat! Her appetite is legendary, and she’ll do just about anything for some Abatti’s Pizza, cinnamon swirls, jiggly fruit, or Tastee Swirl ice cream.

At home, Gina lives with her mom, who’s a single parent. Her dad’s never around or mentioned.

Johnny Abatti (Al Mukadam)

Johnny Abatti is easily one of the most memorable Angela Anaconda characters. He is a young man of Italian American descent who is characterized as amiable but simple-minded.

While his parents are never shown in the series, he is taken care of by his Nonna Carmella and his uncle Nicky, who attempts to pressure him into embracing masculinity in the episode “Johnny Learns to Swing.”

Johnny is considered to be handsome, and his pompadour hairstyle is his most notable feature. He has a few admirers as a result. Additionally, Johnny has some less-than-savory habits, such as nose-picking and shooting spitballs, as he admits in the episode “Goodbye Mrs. Brinks.”

Despite being a close friend of Angela’s, Johnny becomes envious of any romantic competition for her affection, suggesting a potential romantic interest.

Nanette Manoir (Ruby Smith-Merovitz)

nanette manoir

Nanette may seem like a perfect little angel to adults, but she’s actually a devious, snobbish, and mean girl who takes pleasure in tormenting Angela and her friends. Her parents are also snobs who overlook their daughter’s terrible behavior and fail to discipline her.

Nanette is proud of her looks and considers herself to be very beautiful, which may be true since her mother is also lovely. She flaunts her family’s wealth and high status to assert her superiority over her classmates, especially Angela and her friends.

Unlike typical teacher’s pets who genuinely admire their teachers, Nanette only uses Mrs. Brinks for power in the classroom and at school.

Gordy Rhinehart (Edward Glen)

angela anaconda characters (gordy rhinehart)

Gordy is a gentle and artistic boy with asthma who prefers flower pressing, housework, and poetry over tag or hide-and-seek. He loves ballet, nature, and all things pretty. He’s famous for his allergies and wears square glasses and a blue vest. He’s the opposite of his macho ex-Army father, Coach Rhinehart, but they have a strong bond.

Gordy makes strawberry soufflés, embroidered towels, and pillowcases for his dad, who enjoys them. He owns a well-groomed dog named Fabio and worries about animals’ welfare.

Mrs. Ephigenia Brinks (Richard Binsley)

Mrs. Ephigenia Brinks

Mrs. Brinks is a quirky third-grade teacher who has a distinctive deep voice and some unusual habits. She has a tendency to eat and drink loudly and makes some less-than-pleasant noises while doing so.

Her appearance is also notable, as she wears a large gray beehive wig that hides her bald head and dresses in a long, old-fashioned skirt.

Mrs. Brinks isn’t the worst teacher, but she’s easily swayed and picks favorites. She always shows favoritism toward Nanette, who she sees as a perfect little angel. However, Mrs. Brinks is really tough on Angela.

Mark and Derek Anaconda (Rob Tinkler)

Mark and Derek Anaconda are Angela Anaconda’s teenage brothers and the secondary villains of the series. They are part of the Tapwater Springs Bulldogs football team, coached by Gordy Rhinehart’s dad, and they love to tease and mock their younger sister whenever she does something they deem foolish.

Coach Rhinehart (Robert Smith)

coach rhinehart

Coach Rhinehart is a sports fanatic, football coach, and army veteran. He is known for being Gordy’s dad as well as the nature survival counselor at Tapwater Springs High School.

Despite being different from his son, they love and accept each other.

Nicholas “Uncle Nicky” Abatti (Ron Rubin)

nicky abatti

Nicky Abatti is Johnny Abatti’s uncle. He has a towering pompadour, bushy sideburns, and cool aviator shades, often accompanied by a pair of unidentified beauties. He’s notorious for his misadventures, once even getting chased by the police in one of his wild escapades.

His antics often lead the kids astray, such as convincing them to ride in a garbage truck or engage in some harmless pranks like ding-dong-ditching.

Despite his questionable behavior, he proves to be a decent caretaker for the gang. At first, he had a tense relationship with coach Rhinehart, but they later buried the hatchet.

William (Diego Matamoros) and Geneva Anaconda (Allegra Fulton)

Angela’s parents, William and Geneva, are the loving but financially struggling parents of Mark, Derek, Angela, and Lulu. William enjoys inventing, but none of his creations have taken off, except for the Food Rejuvenator 3000, which he deliberately sabotaged because he didn’t want his family to change.

William sells ceramic dancing pigs and expandable foam in a can to help make money for the family.

Geneva is an artist who supports the family through commissions and teaching at the community college.
